Alan Roycroft

Agency Director - Investments

As the Agency Director - Investments, Alan is responsible for helping advisors and sales managers meet client investment goals and objectives. Before joining Baystate, Alan was a Director of National Sales for the MetLife Broker-Dealer Group where he  specialized in helping advisors develop the techniques and skills to become the best in the business, and arm them with a wide array of business-building solutions and strategies to solve specific client problems.

Alan has 20 years of professional sales and management experience that began in asset management, and has culminated for the last 18 years with a variety of sales and marketing roles in the development and management of the broker dealer.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Art degree from Salve Regina University, and holds his Series 7 and 24 Licenses. He was born and raised in the Boston area, and during his free time enjoys skiing, golfing and following the financial markets. Alan lives in Westwood with his wife Maureen and his three children, Sarah, Katie and Jack.

Robert Piatelli

Life Products Director

Robert (Bob) leads the Life Insurance Sales and Marketing department. He began his career at Baystate Financial in 1975 before leaving to work at New England Financial in Product Design and Development for the next five years. He returned to Baystate Financial where he now is the Director of Life Insurance Sales and Marketing.

With 35 years of experience in the life insurance industry he focuses on the sale and conservation of life insurance. Bob works closely with advisors to help them with case design that will assist them in finding the best solutions for their client’s needs.

Abigale Magruder

Personal Financial View Director

Abigale began her career in 2011 with Baystate Financial on the Sales Desk as a sales support consultant and transitioned to the Financial Planning Department in late 2012. Abigale is responsible for managing the firm’s financial planning and Personal Financial View software. In addition to her role, Abigale is also a financial planning case writer where she is responsible for overseeing the financial plan development process ensuring that recommended strategies meet client's stated goals and objectives.

Her role includes:

  • Providing comprehensive financial planning services for clients of the firm.
  • Analyzing client situations and developing recommendations for proposed planning solutions.
  • Approving financial plans for planners to deliver to clients.
  • Training the firm’s financial advisors to utilize the financial planning software for both client aggregation and financial planning projections.

Abigale graduated from Wheaton College in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Herbert K. Daroff, JD*, CFP®

Agency Director - Estate & Business Planning

Herb is an attorney by education and very proud to be a financial services representative by profession. He works in Estate and Business Planning for Baystate Financial in Boston where he provides custom case design. He has been actively involved in the financial services industry since 1973.  Herb is on the faculty at Bentley University in  Waltham, MA.

Mr. Daroff graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Commerce and Engineering in 1975, and Temple University - School of Law with a J.D. in 1979.

Herb is very active in volunteer efforts in his community and the financial services industry. He is Past President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now the Financial Planning Association, FPA) and served as a member of the national IAFP Ethics Committee.

Herb's creativity, experience, and resourcefulness enable him to work very well with clients and their professional advisory team in order to implement responsive solutions for financial objectives.

Jennifer Shea, JD*, MBA

Agency Director - Financial Planning & Advanced Markets

Jennifer Shea is an Attorney by education and heads up the Estate and Business Planning department at Baystate Financial.  In this role, Jennifer partners with Financial Advisors to provide subject matter expertise to help identify and create customized solutions for clients. Jennifer is well-versed in all areas of financial planning and has   developed particular expertise in the areas of estate planning, insurance, philanthropy and retirement.

Jennifer received a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University, J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and M.B.A. from Syracuse University School of Management. While in law school, she served as Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review.

Prior to joining Baystate Financial, Jennifer was a Senior Planning Specialist at Merrill Lynch and an associate at a boutique trust and estate law firm in Boston. She has experience in estate planning, estate administration, trust administration and the related areas of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.  Jennifer also completed a two-year appointment as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association's Estate Planning Fundamentals Committee.

Jennifer is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and is an active member of the Women's Bar Association, Boston Estate Planning Council and the Trusts and Estates Consortium.
